Edition #4 The Muscle Most People Forget - Until It Causes Problems..
There's one muscle group that quietly affects your posture, your breathing, and your lower back — and most people never train it intentionally.
This week: Diaphragmatic Breathing for Core Stability
Sit or lie comfortably. Place one hand on your chest, one on your belly. Inhale slowly through your nose — your belly should rise, not your chest. Exhale fully. Repeat for 10 breaths.
Why it matters: Your diaphragm is part of your deep core system. When it works properly, it reduces pressure on the lumbar spine, improves posture, and helps your other core muscles activate correctly. This is especially valuable for anyone recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, or dealing with muscle imbalances — which, based on what I see with most clients, is almost everyone.
Practice this for 5 minutes a day and your back will thank you.
Warmly, David
